In-Row Cooling for High-Density Data Centers

In-row cooling places precision cooling close to the racks that need it. This can be useful when room-level cooling cannot manage local hot spots or when the design needs more predictable control around high-density rows.

VERHI publishes In-Row Precision Air Conditioners including Cabinet-Level and CR12, CR25, CR35, CR40, CR45 and CR60 models. These models provide current product evidence; the correct application depends on kW per rack, room cooling balance and the overall cooling chain.

When to Review In-Row Cooling

  • local rack density exceeds room-level capability
  • hot spots appear in a high-density row
  • future AI or GPU loads are being planned
  • the facility needs row-level redundancy
  • the project must compare in-row air cooling with liquid cooling

In-Row Cooling FAQ

How do you cool high-density racks?

You can use room-level cooling, in-row cooling or liquid cooling depending on density. In-row cooling can help when heat needs to be removed close to the rack.

Is in-row cooling enough for AI racks?

Not for every AI rack. The kW per rack and cooling chain must be reviewed. VERHI does not claim that air cooling is sufficient for all high-density AI loads.

What is the boundary between in-row and liquid cooling?

The boundary depends on kW per rack, facility heat rejection and design targets. A VERHI engineering review can compare the practical options for your project.
